For my birthday, my mates put in and got me a V8 racing experience, whereby I got to drive a V8 around Queensland Raceway for five laps. I was totally stoked! I'm secretly a bit of a rev-head.
So a couple of weeks ago I trekked out to the raceway, with my faithful friends Casey and Mitch, for a morning of fast car fun! Because my uncle volunteers out there, I got more than the standard five laps of driving - I think I got about eight, and it was fantastic! I have no idea how fast I went because I was too busy concentrating on not crashing, but my god it's a thrill! I got a DVD that gives a good perception of the speeds you reach. Was totally awesome.
Then, as an extra because I'm awesome (and so is my uncle), I then had one of the professional drivers take me out for a spin, which was fantastic! Now I want to be a race car driver too! I'll add that to my list of things I'm currently striving towards - the next Australian Idol, and the next winner of So You Think You Can Dance.
Speaking of the latter, my housemate and I had our first ballet lesson on Friday night. It was fun, but my calf muscles have never been so sore! I'm going to have awesome legs, but it's going to hurt.
And this weekend I went up the coast for a bit of r 'n' r with some of the girls from work. It was great to have a girls' weekend - we sat around and ate and drank, got prettied up and went out and ate and drank some more, fell asleep in the wee hours, woke up and ate and ate and ate more, went for a swim in the surf, and generally relaxed. I really needed it!! I've had a busy couple of weeks, which included travelling up to Rockhampton for work, so ti was nice to just chill for a bit. Unfortunately, as is the way of such things, it was over too far. So now, back to working and so forth...
